A Quiet Moment, Recognized

There are certain images that stay with you long after the session ends.

“Follow the Light” is one of those.

I am honored to share that my DubC Dog Portrait of Bailey, Follow the Light, has been selected for the online exhibition Call the Dogs presented by the South x Southeast Gallery, juried by Elizabeth Avedon.

Patience is Key

During a session, it’s not always about the formal, posed image but the in-between unexpected moments. Bailey gave me exactly that, an unexpected stretch toward the light.

If you’ve spent any time with dogs, you know exactly what I mean. They don’t overthink. They don’t perform. They are. And if you are patient enough, they offer you something honest enough that your only job is not to miss it.

That’s what “Follow the Light” became.

A study in form, tone, and instinct. A black and white portrait that leans into minimalism. The kind of image that stays with you.

Where Dogs and Fine Art Meet

This exhibition, Call the Dogs, celebrates the deep connection between humans and their canine companions, while also pushing the conversation of what dog photography can be.

That intersection is exactly where DubC Dog Portraits lives.

Yes, these are portraits of dogs. But more than that, they are about legacy. About creating something that belongs on your wall, not buried in your phone. Something that reflects not just how your dog looked, but how they felt to you.

Bailey’s portrait is a perfect example of that philosophy. It is not about tricks or props. It is about light, shape, and a fleeting moment that became something permanent.

A Personal Thank You

To have this image selected by Elizabeth Avedon, someone who has spent a lifetime immersed in the world of fine art photography, is an incredible honor. Her love for dogs and photography make this selection of this image all the more special.

Dog Lovers (You Know Who You Are)

If you’ve ever looked at your dog and thought, this moment right here… I wish I could hold onto it, you already understand what this is about.

That’s the heart behind every DubC Dog Portrait session.

We’re not just creating photos. We’re creating artwork that becomes part of your home, your story, and eventually, your family history.

Because the time we get with them is never long enough.

If Bailey’s portrait speaks to you, I’d love to create something just as personal for you and your dog. Reach out, start the conversation, and let’s make something you can cherish forever.
